Advice

We are an information source regarding intervention options for vulnerable older adults in Aotearoa.
We aim to be available to speak or meet with people, locally in Whangarei, either in person, over the phone or online (via Zoom) or, nationally, over the phone or via Zoom to share information to anyone who needs to access this.
As far as practicable we will listen to the situation you are involved in and offer suggestions around what intervention options may be most useful & relevant for you to explore/implement.
Locally, in Whangarei, we offer face to face advice to vulnerable older adults or those worried for the wellbeing of an older adult.

We are an accessible source of information regarding intervention options for vulnerable older adults in Aotearoa

We offer face to face support on a case by case basis to vulnerable older adults locally in Whangarei
We support people to consider what systems are available within Aotearoa for intervention in cases of Elder Abuse and/or Neglect and what options may be most relevant for their specific situation
We offer support to those worried for the wellbeing of an older adult
We support families to develop robust risk and safety plans regarding the wellbeing of older vulnerable adults
We provide support to communities regarding intervention options for vulnerable older adults

We provide education to professionals regarding intervention options for vulnerable older adults and how they can access, coordinate and/or implement these when interventions are required
We aim to have an online presence to increase, over time, the knowledge people have in this area to enable more people to take action as needed
We offer support to organisations who want to develop intervention policies and processes that support vulnerable older adults
We will advocate for vulnerable older adults locally and nationally to increase the awareness of risk, increase the amount of people who hold knowledge in the area of intervention and decrease the prevalence of abuse and neglect of older people

We will ensure the provision of social work services to support older adults being as safe as possible within their chosen home environments
We will ensure the provision of social work services to support older adults needing refuge/safety as a result of abuse or neglect or to reduce the likelihood of this
We will be available to co-ordinate intervention responses for older vulnerable adults (including those who have been assessed as lacking mental capacity)
